After years of looking for the perfect church, I found it this morning on my lawn.

The World Race groups showed up in the big tent at a little after 6:30 in the morning. No one said, "It's time to start." James had a guitar and began leading worship. It's a hungry bunch of young lions - you could feel the presence of the Lord. Some stood, others sat. Some fell to their knees; others raised their hands.

At various times someone would pray or read a scripture. People shared what God was doing in their heart as they were led. Chris had a guitar and he led worship. Someone had an exhortation, but no one preached. After a while, Clinton found some juice and a poptart and we had communion. We prayed some more and worshipped some more. Ginger grabbed the guitar and led us in a song. We finished reluctantly when breakfast showed up.

This afternoon they are out on the lake in canoes and kayaks. The weather is perfect - God is in His heaven and the body of Christ is doing what it's supposed to be doing.

In several months, this group of wild men and women will go to the nations for a year. They'll live in poverty among the poor, ministering to the hopeless - the orphans and the widows. They'll abandon all that we consider important, but they'll go with a great sense of the Lord's provision and protection. And they'll be taking the perfect church with them.
