We commissioned our eldest daughter, Talia, to go on the World Race yesterday. We miss her already, but love the fact that she is committed to following Jesus in a radical way, and has reduced her worldly belongings to a 40 pound pack out of which she'll be living.

She is going for broke in a way that more of us need to in 2007! I pray that in this next year God enables you to identify and focus on what's important in your life (and at some point that he lets you reduce it down to a the size of a backpack). There is true freedom in that.

Tonight Talia's head to Mexico an posted this:

I left Atlanta this morning and have safely arrived in Texas. A small entourage of fellow world racers greeted us (11 on the same flight) with video cameras and all.

We look like an REI commercial, crowding around the fountain in the middle of the airport. People keep asking what we are doing, and it is so exciting getting to share it all. Happy New Year everyone! I love you all and will see you in a year!:)
