My daughter Emily has a dream - to be an actress in films and to project her faith while doing so. She knows that it's an impossible dream. One in a million ever really hit the big time, and of those, how many are able to stay pure? I can't think of any at the moment.

So, Emily knows what it is to dream and to struggle to keep a dream alive. She's sold out and is learning every aspect of the film-making business as a member of Whitestone Motion Pictures, an Atlanta-based production company.

She created a two-minute film as a wish-upon-a-star prayer for all those moms out there who struggle to keep their dream alive in a world of wet blankets. Check out her effort at this link.

Its message is what I want to say to my mom and  to moms everywhere: You are loved.

We dads and children don't tell you nearly often enough how incredible you are. You spend your days sacrificially giving - feeding us, picking up after us, training us, and shuttling us around. Most of the time we barely grunt our gratitude. But today, shaken to a state of awareness, we want to set things right. And if we could give you your dreamland, we would.
